2 out of 5 stars The most expensive bomb in my life   April 25, 2010
Raúl Horacio García (Asuncion, Paraguay)

Emwave proved a HUGE dissapointment. I fluctuate between HUGE and major and probably will regret using either in detriment of the
other in the near future. But all in all it has proved to be the most expensive BOMB in my life so far but it has given me valuable information as to who is this product targeted to and what is the significance of stress to most people. I realize now, only 27 though, that I have been through more pain and strife than most people have in many lifetimes. I grew up with an undiagnosed severe case of emotional & psychological disorders; namely PTSD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I stuttered in early childhood and carried that into my adolescence. While the physical behaviors have mostly(while not entirely) dissapeared, the tragedy felt inside, in my feelings and in my psyche have endured creating the disorders listed above. It was only natural that I sought for change in my lifestyle from the familiar at a very young age to be able to cope with such an uphill challenge. And so I did becoming in the process involved in Buddhist practices, reading many physcology and spiritual books in order to understand why I was feeling like I was and going through the hell I was. I share this with all of you so you can have an idea of the experience and knowledge I had already gathered in the fields of stress & stress management and in the means of how to become more resilient and flexible in the face of adversity and challenge.

It is therefore that Emwave served nothing for me. It has not brought anything I did not already know beforehand. Besides, that sense of "creating a feeling of appreciation" or "think about something good in your life" in order to increase your coherence score is so corny & on-the-surface! If anything it has only highlited the differences between people like me, with severe involuntary challenges fought from a very young age and the ordinay person who finds his life screwed up well after he/she is forty-something only beggining to feel the strain of a stressful life after his marriage/work/relationships crumble. The bomb that its purchase has been has shown me that this tool or gimmick or apparatus is targeted for EXTREMELY COMMON PEOPLE who will never delve in deeper than is evident. People who love arm-chair psychology or new-age like mumbo will probably thrive on it and think of it as some magic lamp. To me it's nothing. I was thinking about returning it for a refund but refrained from it. I know some people who could probably think they could benefit from it. Either way it will probably rest in some shelf regardless of who owns it.

But for me, the significance of keeping it -and why I will probably keep it- is the knowingness of how far I have come in my personal journey of growth and change. You think someone in his 50's could find something new and ground-breaking in a product like this and I, at 27 feel next to mobbed because it sounds all so basic, child-like and elemntary, you know you have come a long way.

I only wish I had read a review like this before I ordered the product. I would've known in a heartbeat not to do it.

2 out of 5 stars Very Pricey Toy   April 16, 2010

When not stressed I could get the "GREEN" (best) light all the time within the first "session". After a fight with my husband I tried it and even though my breathing followed the lights perfectly I couldn't get past yellow and kept going back to red. Thus, I'm not sure if breathing always contributes to lowering your heart rate. In fact, I was getting more frustrated that I couldn't get to green even though I was breathing accordingly. No doubt keeping my heart rate higher!

Also, I never use it. I used it a few times when I first got it. If you have a lot of time and patience this might work for you. If you're a busy person, save the money and get yourself a massage instead.

I bought this Toy, I mean device to help out with some stress in my life. I can tell you there is nothing magical or scientific about this. If you have to much money and need to throw some away, this is your golden ticket.

This product allows to monitor your heart coherence on the move. I use it for example at work, or in the car, to be more calm and focused. One of the main things that it has brought to me is the experience of how my state of mind impacts on my body.

Wonderful product to help relieve stress and get you in the "zone" for meditation. Product support is excellent. This device has capability to interpret heart rate variability and other neat stuff. There are 4 levels of difficulty and CD with a very helpful visual & audio session.
The company is part of an organization called global coherence which is trying to get the world to become more coherent and peaceful and with becoming heart centered we can all work towards that goal.
